It was only a matter of time before they found their way into my artwork. During the warmer months, these vibrant visitors perch on our deck and happily accept almonds from our open hands. Their gentle nature and brilliant colours have made them both treasured neighbours and a constant source of creative inspiration.  A Cosy Confusion by Kristen Willis Description My family would often receive visits from a flock of guinea fowl. They’d scuffle and noisily trumpet their way past my studio door, demanding attention wherever they went. When presented with a creative brief, I found myself imagining these boisterous birds in quite the opposite state, nestled together and fast asleep in a dreamy wonderland. Also, the collective noun for Guinea Fowl is called a ‘confusion’.  All the Wheels Go Round and Round by Lara Porter Description “All the wheels go round and round” was awarded first place in the CYA Published Illustrators Awards 2024. The theme was “in motion” and Lara wanted to create a nostalgic scene of kids on various modes of kiddie transport that brought out the fun of a summer childhood. Digital artwork A4 print, 2024 Illustrator Bio Lara Porter is a South African-born children's book illustrator based in Sydney, Australia. She loves creating playful, colourful digital illustrations with a traditional and textural feel. Lara's work has earned numerous illustration awards and she has illustrated three published picture books. Her most recent book will be released in August 2026, titled “Howl-o-ween” written by Emma Bowd and published by Penguin Random House.

Illustrator Bio Chris Kennett has been drawing ever since he could hold a pencil (or so his mum says). But professionally, he has been creating quirky characters for just over 20 years. Working his way from animation through to children's books, Chris has managed to work on some truly "out of this world" projects, including the beloved Star Wars series of Little Golden Books. His most recent projects include the hugely popular first reader series School of Monsters with Sally Rippin, the "Mr Luke's Magic Library" with Internet sensation Mr Luke and "Brunocorn" with prolific picture book author Rory H Mather.

She has swum with many incredible sea creatures, but her most magical encounters are always with whales. 6/17/2026 5 Comments LOT 15 Gouldian Finch by Sami Bayly Description This original watercolour painting of a Gouldian Finch was illustrated by Sami Bayly in 2026 and took approximately 6 hours to paint. It showcases the stunning vibrant colours of the iconic Australian bird and is encased in a vintage wooden frame and matboard. Illustrator Bio Sami is an international award winning author and illustrator who is based in Newcastle, Australia. She loves all things weird and wonderful and enjoys painting realistic flora and fauna with watercolours. Her favourite topics tend to be the ones most people like to avoid... such as 'ugly' animals, parasites, poo stories and more. But she is not afraid to paint the ‘prettier’ things in life every now and then. She has published 7 books over the last 7 years, which include titles such as, “The Illustrated Encyclopaedia of Ugly Animals” , “The Illustrated Encyclopaedia of Fast and Slow Animals” and “How We Came To Be: Surprising Sea Creatures”.

His love for illustration and storytelling spans over 50 books including early reader chapter books and picture books that have sold around the world. Tony fills his drawings with humour and interesting details. His passion for his motorcycle, cars, cats and dogs shows in his drawings, which are often found hiding in the backgrounds of his works.
6/17/2026 4 Comments LOT 12 Grandma Murphy's Pussycat by Lucinda Gifford Description Original pencil and ink artwork from the book 'Grandma Murphy's Pussycat', a gloriously creepy tale written by Maura Finn and published by Affirm Press. Illustrator Bio Lucinda Gifford is the author and illustrator of many well-loved books for kids. In the 90s, Lucinda studied architecture in Scotland, where she learned to draw fancy buildings and moody scenery. Many years later, she put some of her best drawings in a folio and started looking for work illustrating children’s books. Lucinda Gifford has since illustrated 50 books, ten of which she has also written. She works from her studio in Melbourne’s north and especially enjoys making books about chickens, wolves, castles and magical creatures. Lucinda loves her new job and plans to write and draw for the rest of her life, or until her hand drops off, or both.
