Illustrator Bio

Tania McCartney is an author, illustrator, designer and editor of 65 books, published in around 20 countries, with titles including Flora: Australia’s Most Curious Plants, Wildlife Compendium of the World, the Plume picture book series and the Evie and Pog junior fiction series. A juvenile literacy ambassador and the founder of Kids’ Book Review and The Happy Book podcast, her many awards and shortlistings include the CBCA Awards, the NSW Premier’s Literary Awards, the World Illustration Awards and the Australian Book Design Awards. In 2017, she received the CBCA Laurie Copping Award for Distinguished Service to Children’s Literature. After several years in Paris, London and Beijing, Tania now lives in Canberra with a forest of artwork and a mountain of books.
